Good weekend for LC athletes at the Athletics Canada Hershey Canadian National Indoor Track and Field Championships in Motreal. Laurel Creek was the only club who sent athletes to nationals and we had some great results. Top performance was from Stephen Davis who took gold in the U16 boy’s high jump and silver in U16 long jump. In addition, Brendan Chapple placed 2nd in the U16 1200m and 3rd in the 800m.
Avery Hastings was another double medalist capturing bronze in the U16 girl’s pentathlon and shot put.
Other medalists from Laurel Creek were Scott Arndt, 2nd in U20 800m, Daniel Khan, 2nd in U18 800m and Spiros Goros who was 2nd in the U16 pentathlon
Laurel Creek is not only the largest track and field club in the region but also the highest rank club provincially in terms of performance. For over 25 years they have been dedicated to helping youth discover the talent that lies within, achieving success at the local, provincial, national and international levels.
