Laurel Creek athletes competed in two provincial championship meets this past weekend with some stellar performances.
Great results from LC Jumps and Multis group athletes were registered at the Legion Ontario Provincial track and field championships in Brampton.
Top performance was Stephen Davis who was also top athlete at the meet winning the U16 Boy’s high jump, triple jump and long jump. Way to go Stephen!
In addition Annika Jozin took the gold medal in the U18 Girl’s high jump and Avery Hastings placed 2nd in the U16 Girl’s Pentathlon.

Over at York University a number of our athletes competed as well in the Athletics Ontario U20, Open and Combined Events provincial championships.
Congratulations to Abbey Yuhasz who took the gold medal in the U20 Women’s 3000m. In addition Spiros Goros won the U16 Boy’s Pentathlon.
As well, Jason Lowrie took U20 steeplechase silver, Avery Hastings was 2nd in U16 Girl’s Pentathlon in her second meet of the weekend, Christine Laurie was 4th in Senior Women’s 1500m, Mackenzie Morgan_ 4th in U20 Women’s -800m, Travis Bannerman was 4th in U20 men’s high jump and Foster Malleck was 4th in U20-800m.

Now on to Junior Nationals in Montreal and Youth Nationals in Sydney Nova Scotia!
