Riley Alvarez and Kailee Sawyer are selected to represent Canada at IAAF competition

Laurel Creek is pleased to announce that Athletics Canada selected two of our athletes to participate in the World Youth Championships.  Kailee Sawyer and Riley Alvarez continue preparations for the event organized by the International Association of Athletics Foundations.  Both have made the team after having outstanding results on the track this year.  Alvarez will be competing in the 1500 m event, while Sawyer will be in the 800 m race.  Tom Fitzgerald, LC middle-distance coach, has guided their development over the past years as both athletes joined the club over five years ago.

The World Youth Track and Field meet will take place July 10-14 in Donetsk, Ukraine. Read more about Canada’s World Youth Championship Team and visit the IAAF World Youth Championship Website for complete meet coverage.
