Laurel Creek TFC Fee Assistance Information

For those who require financial assistance, there are several organizations committed to removing barriers, and helping our community to participate in recreational and minor sports.

Jumpstart

Canadian Tire Jumpstart program offers kids between the ages of 4 – 18 financial assistance to participate in sport, dance or other organized physical activities.

Applications for Jumpstart need to be done before the fees are due, as the money goes directly to the sports association. Applications for assistance can typically be submitted from January 15 to November 1; with the goal for funding to be equitably distributed over Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter activities.
For more information and to apply: Individual Child Grants | Jumpstart (canadiantire.ca)

KidSport

KidSport provides grant to help cover the cost of registration for kids under 18 in Kitchener Waterloo so they can participate in eligible sport programs. For more information and to apply:  Home – KidSport Kitchener Waterloo (kidsportcanada.ca)

If you live outside of Kitchener Waterloo please contact the Provincial Office to find the nearest chapter or to get support. For more information and to apply:  KidSport Canada | So all kids can play

City of Kitchener and Waterloo Leisure Access assistance

Additionally, both the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo offer their residents funding assistance through their Leisure Access programs with slightly different benefits:

Leisure Access (fee assistance) – City of Kitchener

Kitchener’s Leisure Access funding can be used for their City programs (such as swimming lessons) and facilities.

Assistance programs – City of Waterloo

Waterloo’s Leisure Access funding can be used for their City programs (same as in Kitchener) but also for, with City approval, local minor sports programs affiliated with the City of Waterloo or KW programs.

We’re here to help!

Laurel Creek recommends that those requiring fee assistance access the appropriate Leisure Access program as it offers access to many city programs. Laurel Creek will utilize your qualification for LA funding (whenever possible) to “qualify” athletes for subsidized registration fees and eliminate the need for you to provide financial documentation to Laurel Creek directly.

Assistance from the Kitchener Sports Association, donations from sponsors and other participants enable us to offer subsidized fees and keep our program affordable for everyone!
