Bruce Glebe receives KSA award

On Tuesday, November 23, the Kitchener Sports Association held the 22nd Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards Dinner at the Edelweiss Restaurant.  The banquet M.C. was Don Cameron, long-time play-by-play man of the Kitchener Rangers.  The guest speaker was Dennis McPhee, head football coach, University of Waterloo Warriors.
The awards were given to volunteers from various sports groups.  Each person was nominated by the executive of the sport group for which the volunteer is associated. The KSA executive then made their selections based on the submitted nominations and accompanying nominee summary.  Thirty volunteers were recognized that evening.
The summary is below as it appeared in the banquet program:

“Bruce Glebe has been with Laurel Creek Track & Field Club for 20 years.  He has coached youngsters of all ages and levels.  He is the long standing sprints coach and is the club manager.  Bruce is Leah Robinson’s coach and has coached many successful spinters in his years with the Club.  Most recently, he coached the Laurel Creek Junior Women’s 4 x 100 relay team that were back-to-back champions (2009 & 2010) at the Canadian Junior National Track & Field Championship.”
