Laurel Creek continues to compete at the National Cross Country Championship with competitors in the Junior Men’s and Junior women’s race albeit with incomplete teams. The goal was to gain experience for the future and have both men’s and women’s teams in the top 10 in the country in 2011. Jaimie Phlen ran a courageous race going out with the lead pack and requiring to withdraw due to a injury. In the mens race Austin Trapp lost his shoe in the first 100m and ran the remaining 7900m in the ice and snow in only a thin racing sock. This performance will put all other races in perspective as far as the pain he can endure. James Milton and Dan Debus gained valuable experience in their first National Junior Championship.
