LC athletes were a force to be reckoned with at this past weekend’s Athletics Ontario Provincial Championships in Brampton. Abby Byers took the gold medal in the Bantam Girl’s long jump and followed that up with a bronze in the 150m race. MacKenzie Morgan was victorious in the Youth Girl’s 800m race and then LC sprinters added back-to-back gold medals in the 4x100m relay. The bantam team of Byers, Avery Hastings, Julia Hancock and Chanithi Bandaranayake led off and that was followed minutes later with a victory by the midget girl’s team of Lily Browne, Nicole Paine, Ashlyn Gilhula and Collette Wolfe.
Bronze medals were added by Julia Hancock in the Bantam Girl’s 80m dash and the youth girl’s 1600m sprint relay.
