Laurel Creek struck gold this past weekend at the Athletics Ontario Indoor Provincial Combined Events and Relay Championships at the Toronto Track and Field Center at York University.
Multi’s Athlete Caleb Timm, the 2017 AO Provincial Combined Events Athlete of the Year, took gold in the Youth Men’s Pentathlon capturing 4 of 5 events to score 2,980 points.
On the relay side our Junior Women’s 4x400m relay team of Elise MacDonald, Mackenzie Morgan, Eliza Smith and Amelia Matthews were champions while our Junior Women’s 4x800m team of Abbey Yuhasz, Amelia Matthews, Elise MacDonald and Tegan Morrison took the gold.
Also bringing home medals were our Youth Girls Sprint Medley team coming in second and the Junior Women’s Sprint Medley taking bronze.
In addition, the trials were held for Team Ontario for the coming Inter-provincial Midget Meet and jumper Connor Cortes hit the qualifying standard in both the high jump and triple jump. The team will be named in early February. Good luck Connor!
